Panthers Sign CB James Dockery, Place TE Richie Brockel On I.R.

The Carolina Panthers announced Tuesday that they have signed CB James Dockery and placed TE Richie Brockel on season-ending injured reserve with a foot injury.

Dockery, 25, originally signed on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon State back in 2011. Cleveland placed him on waivers before the start of the 2012 regular season, but the Panthers wound up claiming him off of waivers.

Carolina brought him back this past March when they signed him to a one-year, $660,000 contract. However, Dockery was unable to make the team coming out of the preseason and was once again released.

Last year, he appeared in five games and recorded five total tackles for the Panthers.
