Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that former Vikings QB/WR Joe Webb is signing with the Panthers.
Webb, 27, played quarterback in his earlier years with the Vikings but was converted to a wide reciever the past two seasons. Webb has been largely ineffective as a receiver thus far only catching five passes for 33 yards last season. However, Rapoport mentions that Webb is being signed as a quarterback.
Webb will likely compete for backup quarterback duty against QB Derek Anderson during OTA’s and training camp.
