Panthers Sign G David Yankey To Futures Deal

The Carolina Panthers officially signed G David Yankey to a future/reserve contract on Tuesday.

The Panthers have now signed seven players to futures contracts including;

1. G David Yankey
2. WR Cobi Hamilton
3. G Tyler Larsen 
4. C Matt Masifilo
5. DE Larry Webster
6. DT Eric Crume 
7. CB Travell Dixon

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and training camp.

Yankey, 23, is a former fifth-round pick of the Vikings back in 2014. He was unable to make their 53-man roster coming out of the preseason this year, but was later signed to their practice squad where he remained for the entire 2015 season.

Yankey has yet to appear in an NFL game.
