Panthers Sign K Graham Gano To A Four Year Deal

The Carolina Panthers announced that they have re-signed K Graham Gano to a four-year contract on Friday.

  • Mike Garafolo reports that Gano will make $12.4 million over the course of the four years.
  • Garafolo adds that Gano will receive $4 million in base salary and signing bonus for the 2014 season, all of which is guaranteed.
  • According to Garafolo, the contract also includes another $600,000 in escalators.

“The special teams unit was a large part of our success last year, and we are excited to keep Graham as a part of our team,” HC Ron Rivera said in a release. “Graham has shown range and accuracy in his field goal kicking, and his strong leg has been a weapon for us on kickoffs.”

Gano, 26, converted 24 of 27 (88.9%) of his field goal attempt for the Panthers last season. He also made all six of his attempts from 50 yards or more.

Gano would have found a decent amount of interest for a kciker on the open market, so it makes sense for the Panthers to get him taken care of now.
