Panthers Working Out Veteran S Major Wright

The Carolina Panthers are working out veteran S Major Wright on Tuesday, according to BlackandBlueReview.com.

The Panthers are clearly in the market for safety help, as they recently worked out Donte Whitner and Stevie Brown, but didn’t sign either to contracts.

Wright, 28, is a former third-round pick of the Bears back in 2010. He played four years in Chicago before signing on with the Buccaneers in 2014.

Wright was in the final year of his two-year, $3 million contract that included $1.25 million guaranteed and set to  make a base salary of $1.5 million in 2016 when he was recently cut.

In 2015, Wright appeared in nine games and recorded 25 tackles, no interceptions and four pass defenses.
