Panthers TE Jake McGee Reverts To Injured Reserve After Clearing Waivers

Panthers TE Jake McGee reverted to the team’s injured reserve list after he officially cleared waivers on Monday.

Carolina had several tights on their roster as of last week, so it was clear that a few months were going to be made to balance things out ahead of OTAs. It’s possible that McGee will be granted his release at some point in coming months when healthy.

McGee, 24, signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Florida a few weeks ago. However, he was placed on waivers with the injury designation last week to make room for receivers LaRon Byrd and Tobais Palmer.

During his college career between Virginia and Florida, McGee recorded 112 receptions for 1,150 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns.
