Panthers Waive DE Wes Horton From Exempt List

The Carolina Panthers announced Monday that they’ve waived DE Wes Horton from the exempt list.

Horton, 25, also signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out USC back in 2013. He was in the final year of his three-year, $1.485 million rookie contract when the Panthers cut him a few months ago.

However, Carolina later re-signed him to a contract a week into October.

Horton was just reinstated after being suspended four games. Carolina had a roster exemption that was set to expire today for Horton.

This year, Horton has appeared in eight games and recorded seven tackles and a sack for the Panthers.
