Panthers Waive TE Kevin Greene, Sign DB Jocquel Skinner

The Carolina Panthers have placed TE Kevin Greene on waivers Tuesday and signed DB Jocquel Skinner to a contract, according to David Newton.

Greene, 25, had one year remaining on his contract and would have made a base salary of $435,000 for the 2015 season.

He originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of USC back in 2014. However, Greene was later waived at the start of the season. The Bengals wound up signing him to their practice squad a few days later.

The Panthers elected to sign Greene to a future/reserve contract in December of last year.

Skinner, 22, signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Bethel (TN) back in 2014. He lasted just a month with the team before he was waived/injured. However, the Buccaneers later signed him to a future/reserve contract at the end of last season before waiving him before the draft.
