Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Panthers brought in free agent TEs Gavin Escobar, Jace Amaro and Kellen Davis for workouts on Tuesday.

This comes after the team placed TE Greg Olsen on injured reserve with a foot fracture. Ed Dickson is expected to take over as the Panthers’ starting tight end for the time being.

Escobar, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2013. He played out his four-year, $4.21 million rookie contract with the Cowboys and was testing the open market for the first time in his career when he signed a one-year. $885,000 contract that included $80,000 guaranteed with the Chiefs this offseason.

Unfortunately, Kansas City elected to Escobar loose coming out of the preseason.

In 2016, Escobar appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys and caught four passes for 30 yards receiving and one touchdown.
