Panthers Working Out LSU WRs Odell Beckham Jr. & Jarvis Landry Tuesday

David Newton of ESPN reports that the Carolina Panthers are in Baton Rouge today working out a pair of LSU wide receivers — Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry.

Beckham is a fast-rising prospect, and most project him to be selected in the middle of round 1.  He is quick with great hands, though he lacks ideal size.

Landry’s stock appears to be moving in the other direction after running a disappointing 4.77 40 at the combine.  Landry can be explosive however, despite testing poorly for straight-line speed, and is often projected as a day 2 pick.

Carolina certainly has a need at the wide receiver position.  The team has received some scrutiny for stripping QB Cam Newton of many of his weapons.  Currently, WR Jerricho Cotchery and WR Jason Avant likely sit atop their depth chart.

We have the Panthers taking FSU WR Kelvin Benjamin at No.  28 overall in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
