Pat White Signs With The Kansas City Royals?

Pat White appears to be close to signing with a new team. The only catch is that the team is the Kansas City Royals and not an NFL team.

White was unable to secure a job with another NFL team after being let go by the Miami Dolphins and because no one took chance on claiming him, he is now unable to sign on to a teams practice squad.

According to ProFootballTalk.com the Royals plan to sign White to a minor league deal and will allow him to pursue a football career if the opportunity arises. There has been some talk that he may try to join the UFL but since the season is about to start and quarterback options are limited, teams would likely only be able to offer him a backup position.

This is an interesting turn of events but White has shown that he is a good enough athlete to play another sport other than football. He was actually drafted by the New York Yankees in 2009, even though it was the 48th round.
