Patrick Crayton Update

Yesterday we mentioned that the Cowboys could be ready to release veteran wideout Patrick Crayton despite the fact that he’s been a solid contributing receiver for the team and may even fit the team better than Roy Williams. Did I mention that Crayton also makes less than Williams and plays the slot?

The latest on this situation comes from Craytons agent, Fred Lyles, who told the Dallas Morning News that, “It seems he doesn’t figure in their plans so it’s not logical to be on the roster until Saturday.” “We don’t see the use in prolonging it.”

The Kansas City Chiefs could use him in the slot as well as the St Louis Rams, just to name a few options. The Washington Redskins are in need of more options at the receiver position so they are also a possibility but all of these teams will have to wait to see what the Cowboys elect to do with Crayton.
