Patrick Willis Closer To Returning?

Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that 49ers LB Patrick Willis returned to practice for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury.

Willis was still limited in practice but it’s a good sign moving forward with the playoffs just a few weeks away. Willis said that he’s hoping to play this weekend against the Seahawks but that appears to be overly optimistic.

It’s hard to imagine that the 49ers would allow their start linebacker to return and play in game that they should be able to win without him. That’s not to say that Seattle will be an easy win but the 49ers are playing well enough right now to pull out a win in Seattle without risking further injury to Willis.
