Patriots To Activate Rookie QB Jacoby Brissett From I.R. On Friday

Ben Volin of the Boston Globe is hearing that the Patriots plan to officially activate rookie QB Jacoby Brissett from their injured reserve list on Friday.

The Patriots will, however, need to make a corresponding roster move to free up a roster spot for Brissett.

Brissett, 22, was taken in the third round of this year’s NFL draft by the Patriots. He’s in the first year of his four-year, $3.411 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season.

New England officially designated Brissett as their player to return from injured reserve a few weeks ago.

In 2016, Brissett has thrown for 400 yards while completing 61.8 percent of his passes to go along with 83 yards rushing and a touchdown on the ground over the course of three games.
