Patriots Activating CB Brandon Browner & WR Brian Tyms

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the Patriots are activating CB Brandon Browner and WR Brian Tyms on Monday.

Both players were eligible to be reinstated for Sunday night’s game against the Bengals, but the Patriots appeared to be willing to buy them some time before working them into the mix at their respective positions.

Rapoport mentions that New England will need to create two roster spots for Browner and Tyms.

Browner, 30, signed a a three-year, $15.15 million contract that included $1 million guaranteed with the Patriots back in March. He finished serving his four-game suspension last week.

It will be interesting to see if he starts opposite to Darrelle Revis in the coming weeks like many envisioned after the team signed him several months ago.

Tyms, 25, also finished serving his four-game suspension last week. It will be interesting to see what kind of role he’ll have in the Patriots offense moving forward seeing as there has been plenty of talk that they could use more help at receiver.
