Patriots Agree To Sign RB Donald Brown

Peter Schrager of FOX Sports reports that the Patriots have agreed to terms with RB Donald Brown.

The Patriots took a look at a few running backs in the past week, but it appears as they’ve settled on Brown as someone they felt was a good fit in their backfield.

It’s worth mentioning that signing Brown to a contract won’t factor into the Patriots’ 2017 compensatory picks.

Brown, 28, had one year remaining on his three-year, $10.5 million contract that included $4 million guaranteed when he was released in a move that freed up just under $4.9 million in available cap space for the Chargers.

In 2015, Brown appeared in 10 games and ran for 229 yards on 59 carries (3.9 YPC) to go along with eight receptions for 88 yards receiving and one total touchdown.
