Patriots Brought In Veteran WR/KR Devin Hester For Tryout

Courtney Fallon is reporting that the Patriots brought in veteran WR/KR Devin Hester for a tryout on Thursday.

  • Tom Curran has been told there’s “nothing looming” between the Patriots and Hester following the workout.

The Patriots have been dealing with issues at kicker return in recent weeks and Hester is arguably the best available option right now.

Hester, 34, is a former second-round pick of the Bears back in 2006. After eight years with the Bears, Hester signed a three-year, $9 million contract with Atlanta and was set to make a base salary of $3.5 million for the 2016 season when the Falcons released him during the offseason.

The Ravens later signed him to a one-year contract at the start of the regular season before placing him on waivers Tuesday.

In 2016, Hester has appeared in 12 games for the Ravens and totaled 466 kick return yards and 180 punt return yards.
