Patriots & C David Andrews Agree To Three-Year, $9M Extension

Michael Giardi first reported that the Patriots and C David Andrews were close to an agreement on a contract extension.

  • ESPN’s Mike Reiss reports that the deal has been agreed to and will keep Andrews under contract through the 2020 season.
  • According to Ian Rapoport, Andrews’ new extension is worth $9 million over the course of the three years.
  • Mike Garafolo adds that it can be worth up to $11 million.

Andrews, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.59 million contract with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia back in May of 2015. He was currently in the final year of his contract and set to make a base salary of $615,000 for the 2017 season.

Andrews would have been a restricted free agent in 2018.

In 2016, Andrews appeared in all 16 games for the Patriots and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 22 center out of 38 qualifying players.
