Lori Pilger of the Lincoln Journal Star reports that Patriots CB Alfonzo Dennard was convicted of felony assault on a police officer on Wednesday.

Pilger adds that Dennard will be sentenced on April 11 and could face up to 6 years in jail.

Tom Curran mentions that the best case scenario for Dennard is that he receives a fine and no jail time.

Dennard reportedly pushed and punched intervening police officer in the jaw during a fight at a Nebraska bar last April. To make matters worse, it happened shortly before last year’s NFL draft, which resulted in him being taken in the seventh round by New England.

There’s a good chance that could Dennard be suspended by the league as well.
