Patriots Claim DT Darius Kilgo Off Waivers From Broncos, Cut RB D.J. Foster

The New England Patriots officially claimed DT Darius Kilgo off waivers from the Broncos and waived RB D.J. Foster on Monday.

Kilgo, 24, is a former sixth-round pick of the Broncos back in 2015. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $2,391,556 contract and stands to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.

The Broncos elected to cut him loose last week.

This year, Kilgo has appeared in nine games for the Broncos and recorded five tackles and no sacks. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 81 total snaps this season.

Foster, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona State back in May. He stands to make base salaries of $450,000 and $540,000 over the next two years.

In 2016, Foster has appeared in three games for the Patriots and rushed for 24 yards on seven carries (3.4 YPC) to go along with one reception for two yards receiving and no touchdowns.
