Patriots Cut 11 Players, Get Down To 53

The New England Patriots announced their final round of roster cuts Saturday to get down to 53 players.

Among the players either waived or released are:

The Patriots also placed WR Brandon LaFell on the Reserve/P.U.P. list, which will cost him the first six games of the 2015 season.

Wayne, 36, signed a one-year, $2.8 million contract with the Patriots just a few weeks ago, so this comes as a bit of a surprise.

In 2014, Wayne appeared in 15 games and caught 64 passes for 779 yards and two touchdowns for the Colts. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 106 receiver out of 110 qualifying players, so this clearly wasn’t a great season by his standards.
