Patriots Exercise OT Nate Solder’s Fifth-Year Option

Jason LaCanfora of CBSSports.com reports that the Patriots have exercised LT Nate Solder‘s fifth-year option.

This move will run the Patriots $7.438 million for the 2015 season. However, the figure is only guaranteed for injury, so they could always work out a long-term deal that would reduce his salary.

Solder, 26, was entering the final year of his rookie contract and will make a base salary of $769,806 to go along with $769,806 roster bonus.

Last year, Pro Football Focus rated Solder as the No. 9 offensive tackle in the league and a particularly solid pass-protector.
