The New England Patriots chose to gamble on veteran offensive lineman Brian Waters following his release by the Kansas City Chiefs. The move started paying dividends almost immediately for them and helped to solidify their interior offensive line.
Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe reports that Water will take the next few weeks to determine whether or not he’ll return for the final year of his contract.
New England locked up Logan Mankins during the short-lived offseason last year but Dan Connolly will be a free agent in the coming weeks and the loss of Waters would leave them pretty line in the middle of their o-line.
