Patriots Hosting CB Terence Newman After He Met With Vikings

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Bengals free agent CB Terence Newman is scheduled to visit with the Patriots on Tuesday.

  • Rapoport mentions that Newman met with the Vikings on Monday.

New England has seen their top-two cornerbacks from a season ago depart in free agency, so finding replacements figures to be an obvious priority for them.

Newman, 36, has spent the past three seasons with the Bengals after playing nine years for the Cowboys.

In 2014, Newman recorded 70 tackles, one interception and 14 pass defenses for the Cincinnati. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the N0. 56 cornerback out of 108 qualifying players.
