Patriots Hosting WR Jordan Matthews & TE Troy Niklas For Visits

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Patriots are hosting free agent WR Jordan Matthews and TE Troy Niklas for visits on Monday.

Matthews has already met with the Cardinals and Packers since free agency opened, but left both visits without an agreement in place.

Matthews, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2014. The Eagles traded Matthews and a 2018 third-round pick to the Bills in return for CB Ronald Darby last year.

Matthews played out the final year of his four-year, $4,949,269 contract and made a base salary of $1,094,901 for the 2017 season.

In 2017, Matthews appeared in 10 games and caught 25 passes for 282 yards receiving and one touchdown for the Bills. Unfortunately, Matthews’ season ended with him being placed on injured reserve.

We have Matthews featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.

Niklas, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $4,023,298 contract and made a base salary of $968,631 for the 2017 season.

Niklas is currently testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2017, Niklas appeared in 15 games for the Cardinals and caught 11 passes for 132 yards receiving and one touchdown.
