Patriots Increase S Patrick Chung’s Incentives For 2017 To $1.7M

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Patriots haveĀ given S Patrick Chung a chance to earn another $800,000 for the 2017 season after they increased his incentives from $900,000 to $1.7 million.

Chung, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Patriots back in 2009. He spent four years in New England before signing on with the Eagles back in 2013.

Unfortunately, Chung lasted just a year in Philadelphia before the Eagles released him. Chung returned to the Patriots soon after.

Chung is currently in the second year of his three-year, $9.3 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $2.5 million for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Chung appeared in all 16 games and recorded 91 tackles, one sack, an interception, and three pass defenses.Ā Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 83 safety out of 90 qualifying players.
