Patriots LB Eric Martin Reverts To Season-Ending I.R. After Clearing Waivers

The New England Patriots placed LB Eric Martin on season-ending injured reserve after he passed through waivers unclaimed.

Martin was waived with the injury designation on Saturday.

Martin, 24, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Nebraska back in 2013. He lasted just a few months in New Orleans before later joining the Browns.

The Patriots signed him to a future/reserve contract in February, but he wound up being waived just a week into the season. Since then, Martin has been on and off of the team’s practice squad.

This season, Martin has appeared in four games and recorded two tackles for the Patriots.
