Patriots Have “Legit” Interest In Louisville QB Lamar Jackson

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Patriots have “legit” interest in Louisville QB Lamar Jackson.

New England recently hosted Jackson for a Top 30 visit and he tells Jenny Vrentas that he actually met with the Patriots twice during the pre-draft process.

Jackson says he had a private workout with Patriots OC Josh McDaniels in South Florida before traveling to Foxborough.

Rapoport previously reported that the Patriots were left “intrigued and impressed” with Jackson and it’s possible he could be an option for them at No. 23 overall.

Of course, New England could always trade up to get him if they’re really locked into coming away from round one with a quarterback of the future.

Based on reports, Jackson met with the Patriots, Browns, Saints, Chargers, Ravens and Bengals over the past month or so.

Jackson, 21, will be one of the more interesting players to watch in this year’s draft, as he could go anywhere from mid-first to early-second, depending on how things play out.

During his three years at Louisville, Jackson threw for 9,043 yards while completing 57 percent of his passes to go along with 69 touchdowns and 27 interceptions. He also rushed for 4,132 yards and 50 touchdowns.

We have the Cardinals taking Jackson in our latest 2018 NFL Mock Draft.
