Patriots Likely To Move From LB Brandon Spikes Following The Season?

Tom Curran of CSN New England writes that he “writing is on the wall” that the Patriots will likely part ways with MLB Brandon Spikes following the 2013 season.

Spikes has skipped the teams conditioning phase or OTAs this year, which Curran sees as a “screw you” to the program.

New England has placed a large emphasis on chemistry this offseason, which resulted in the release of WR Brandon Lloyd.

Spikes, 25, is entering the final year of his rookie contract and appears as though the two sides are unlikely to work out a long-term extension during the season. He should generate interest on the open market next year. We have him listed as the No. 29 player in our Top 50 – 2014 NFL Free Agents list.
