Patriots OC Josh McDaniels Prepared To Seek Another Head-Coaching Job Next Year

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that Patriots OC Josh McDaniels‘ stock may never be higher, and he expects McDaniels to cash in next year.

According to La Canfora, McDaniels is prepared to give head coaching a second shot in 2017.

McDaniels continues to come up as a hot head-coaching candidate, but he has yet to find the right offer to convince him to leave a good position with the Patriots.

New England has navigated the loss of the Tom Brady for the first four games of the season better than most expected and McDaniels clearly deserves a lot of credit for helping to get Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett ready to step in and keep the team competitive.

McDaniels, 40, began his NFL coaching career with the Patriots as a personnel assistant back in 2001. He worked his way up to offensive coordinator in New England before he departed for the Broncos head-coaching job in 2009.

Unfortunately, things didn’t go very well for McDaniels with the Broncos as he was fired during his second year with the team.

After a brief stint with the Rams as their offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, McDaniels returned to the Patriots and has been running their offense in recent years.
