Patriots Owner Robert Kraft Wants Wes Welker To Be A “Patriot For Life”

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft said in an interview with Kim Jones of NFL Network that he would like to see wide receiver Wes Welker be a “Patriot for life,” per Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston reports.

Kraft added that it “takes two sides.” Speaking at the league meetings in Atlanta, Kraft continued, “We’re just happy he’s back in the system. … I think both sides would like to do a deal, but it requires intelligence and putting our team first.”

Welker led the league in receptions last year with 122, one of only two players to pass the century mark in catches in 2011, for 1,569 yards (second in the league) and 9 touchdowns (joint-sixth).
