Patriots Paying DT Darius Kilgo Active Roster Salary While On PS

According to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe, the Patriots are paying DT Darius Kilgo an active roster salary of $30,882 per week, which is the same as his $525,000 base salary.

  • Volin notes that the Patriots also guaranteed Kilgo $92,647 of his salary.
  • The minimum salary for a practice squad player is $6,900 per week.

Kilgo, 24, is a former sixth-round pick of the Broncos back in 2015. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $2,391,556 contract and was set to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season when the Broncos cut him loose.

The Patriots later claimed him off of waivers but decided to cut him in recent weeks. New England signed him to their practice squad once he cleared waivers.

This year, Kilgo has appeared in nine games for the Broncos and recorded five tackles and no sacks. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 81 total snaps this season.
