Patriots Place 7 Players On PUP List Including WRs Danny Amendola & Julian Edelman

The New England Patriots placed seven players on the active/PUP list on Monday, according to Mike Reiss. The full list of players includes: WR Danny Amendola, WR Julian Edelman, TE Clay Harbor, OL Tre’ Jackson, RB Dion Lewis, OL Shaq Mason and RT Sebastian Vollmer.

These players can return to practice once activated. However, if they remain on PUP list to start the regular season, they would miss at least the first six weeks.

Edelman, 30, is in the third year of his four-year, $17 million contract that included $8 million guaranteed. He stands to make a base salary of $2.5 million for the 2016 season.

Edelman underwent foot surgery during the offseason, but has said that he’s improving.

In 2015, Edelman appeared in nine games for the Patriots and recorded 61 receptions for 692 yards receiving and seven touchdowns.

Amendola, 30, agreed to a restructured contract that wound up being a two-year deal worth $7.35 million with the Patriots back in May. He was set to make a base salary of $5 million for the 2016 season before the reworked contract was agreed to.

Amendola underwent knee and ankle surgeries, but has said that he’s feeling good.

In 2015, Amendola appeared in 14 games for the Patriots and recorded 65 receptions for 648 yards receiving and three touchdowns. He also contributed 172 kick return yards and another 276 punt return yards for the team. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 29 receiver out of 121 qualifying players.
