The Patriots officially placed DE Frank Kearse on injured reserve Saturday.
This is interesting, considering that a report from earlier in the week mentioned that Kearse was being released.
Kearse, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2011. However, he lasted just a few months in Miami before he later signed on with the Panthers.
Since then, Kearse has played for the Titans and Cowboys before joining the Redskins on a one-year contract back in May of last year. The Patriots signed him to a one-year contract this past March.
In 2015, Kearse appeared in four games for the Redskins and recorded four tackles and a sack.
