Patriots Place WR Aaron Dobson On I.R. & Sign S Dewey McDonald

Field Yates reports that the Patriots have placed WR Aaron Dobson on season-ending injured reserve and signed S Dewey McDonald to a contract.

Dobson suffered a high-ankle sprain Week 11 against the Bills, and was expected to miss some time.

Dobson, 24, is in the third year of his four-year, $3.428 million rookie contract that included $1.173 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $716,670 this season and another $872,505 next year.

McDonald, 25, signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of California (PA) back in May of last year. Since then, he’s been on and off of the team’s practice squad.

The Patriots wound up claiming McDonald off of waivers from the Colts, but unfortunately waived him from their practice squad earlier in the week.

This season, McDonald has appeared in two games this season and recorded a single tackle.
