Patriots Place WR Brandon Gibson On Season-Ending I.R.

The New England Patriots announced Monday that they’ve placed WR Brandon Gibson on season-ending injured reserve with a knee injury and signed LB D.J. Lynch to a contract.

New England reportedly bolstered their receiver depth earlier in the day by signing long-time Colts WR Reggie Wayne to a one-year deal.

Gibson, 28, signed a one-year, $825,000 contract with the Patriots that included a $40,000 signing bonus and a base salary of $745,000 for the 2015 season.

The Dolphins elected to cut him loose back in February.

In 2014, Gibson caught 29 passes for 295 yards receiving and a touchdown over the course of 19 games. Pro Football Focus has Gibson rated as the No. 100 receiver out of 110 qualifying players.
