Patriots Placing CB Tarell Brown On Season-Ending I.R.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Patriots are placing veteran CB Tarell Brown on season-ending injured reserve Saturday.

Yesterday, Rapoport reported Brown is dealing with a “potentially serious” foot injury and was seeking a second opinion, so this doesn’t come as a complete surprise.

New England has Malcolm Butler and Logan Ryan as their starting cornerbacks, but will be interesting to see if the elect to bring in some more depth at the position in the coming weeks.

Brown, 30, signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Patriots back in July, which included a $400,000 signing bonus and another $500,000 in incentives.

This season, Brown has appeared in three games and recorded 15 tackles for the Patriots.
