Patriots Promote OL James Ferentz To Active Roster

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Patriots are promoting OL James Ferentz to their active roster for Sunday’s game against the Packers.

The Patriots will be without OL Shaq Mason, so they could use some depth.

Ferentz, 29, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa back in 2014. He lasted just over a year in Houston before being claimed off waivers by the Texans at the start of the 2015 season.

After two years with the Broncos, Ferentz signed on with the Patriots in 2017 and returned to New England on a futures contract. However, he was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to the Patriots’ practice squad.

In 2016, Ferentz appeared in eight games for the Broncos.
