Patriots Promote TE Asante Cleveland To Active Roster

Doug Kyed of NESN reports that the Patriots are promoting TEĀ Asante Cleveland to their active roster ahead of Sunday’s game against the Broncos.

Cleveland, 23, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Miami (FL) back in May of last year. He spent a good majority of last year on the team’s practice squad.

The Patriots traded for him in August, but he was unfortunatly unable to make the team’s 53-man roster coming out of the preseason. New England later added him to their practice squad.

In 2014, Cleveland appeared in six games for San Francisco, but didn’t record a single statistic.
