Doug Kyed of NESN.com reports that the Patriots are promoting FB Joey Iosefa to their active roster on Saturday.
The Patriots will need to make a corresponding move to free up a roster spot for Iosefa.
Iosefa, 24, was taken in the seventh-round of this year’s NFL draft out of Hawaii. He had three years remaining on his four-year, $2,348,340 rookie contract when the Buccaneers waived him earlier in the week.
The Patriots signed Iosefa to their practice squad back in October.
During his four years at Hawaii, Iosefa ran for 2,218 yards on 512 carries (4.3 YPC) to go along with 60 receptions for 438 yards receiving and 24 total touchdowns.
