Adam Schefter reports that Patriots RB Dion Lewis is scheduled to undergo MRI on his knee Monday.

As of now, there’s no swelling in his knee, which is considered a good sign. However, Lewis’ ACL is reportedly loose, which is a bad sign.

David Chao mentions that having a loose ACL is a “very bad sign” for Lewis, while swelling usually shows up the next day.

Patriots RB Dion Lewis left Sunday’s game against the Redskins with an apparent left knee injury.

Lewis was able to walk off the field under his own power, but it’s obviously concerning, given how quickly the team ruled him out.

Former NFL physician David Chao mentions that the worry from seeing available video posted online is that he may have a torn ACL.

Lewis, 25, signed a three-year, $3.1 million contract that included a $600,000 signing bonus with the Patriots just a month ago after getting out to an impressive start to the season. He stands to make a base salary of $800,000 next year along with $1.2 million in 2017.

Entering today’s game, Lewis had appeared in six games and ran for 220 yards on 45 carries (4.9 YPC) to go along with 349 yards receiving and four total touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding his status as the news is available.
