Patriots Re-Sign OL Chris Barker To Practice Squad, Cut DL Ben Bass

The New England Patriots announced Thursday that they have re-signed OL Chris Barker to their practice squad and released DL Ben Bass.

Here’s a look at the Patriots’ practice squad unit as of now:

  1. OL Chris Barker
  2. LB Jake Bequette
  3. WR Josh Boyce
  4. LB Darius Fleming
  5. DL Kona Schwenke
  6. DB Daxton Swanson
  7. DL Joe Vellano
  8. OT Caylin Hauptmann
  9. LB Ja’Gared Davis
  10. WR Jonathan Krause

Barker, 24, signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Nevada last year. However, he was unable to make the final 53-man roster and was placed on waivers at the start of the 2013 season.

New England claimed him off of waivers and later added him to their practice squad at the start of 2014 regular season. He has appeared in one game for the Patriots.

Bass, 25, actually came over the Cowboys in a traded that involved the Patriots sending DB Justin Green to Dallas. New England added him to the practice back in September. He hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since the 2012 season.
