Patriots Re-Sign RB Brandon Bolden

The New England Patriots officially re-signed RB Brandon Bolden on Wednesday.

Earlier in the week, Mike Reiss of ESPN reported that the Patriots had yet to close the door on re-signing Bolden and the two parties have had dialogue about a return to New England, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.

Bolden, 27, wound up signing on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss back in 2012. He managed to make the 53-man roster in all five of his years in the NFL and returned to the Patriots on a two-year, $2.32 million contract back in 2015.

Bolden was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2016, Bolden appeared in 14 games for the Patriots and rushed for four years on one carry to go along with two receptions for 15 yards receiving. Bolden’s largest contributions came on special teams.
