Field Yates of ESPN Boston reported earlier in the day that the Patriots reached an agreement free agent with RT Sebastian Vollmer on a four-year contract.

Vollmer, 28, seemed like he was headed for a very active market, which proved to not be the case at all. Some of this could be attributed by the fact that his agency was dictating the market right before Jake Long signed with the Rams.

New England retains one of their best offensive lineman for the foreseeable future. They have been slow-playing the free agent market in the past few weeks, so there’s a decent chance Vollmer may have received a team-friendly contract.

Vollmer was rated as a top-five right tackle by Pro Football Focus and we had him listed as our No. 4 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
