The New England Patriots released RB Josh Ferguson from their practice squad on Friday and signed WR Damoun Patterson to the unit, according to Doug Kyed.

Here’s the Patriots updated practice squad:

  1. DE Trent Harris
  2. CB Jomal Wiltz
  3. QB Danny Etling
  4. OT Eric Smith
  5. TE Stephen Anderson
  6. WR Riley McCarron (Injured)
  7. DE Frank Herron
  8. LB Calvin Munson
  9. LB Ufomba Kamalu
  10. OT Cole Croston
  11. WR Damoun Patterson

Ferguson, 25, wound up signing on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois back in 2016. He managed to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season, but was waived with an injury designation coming out of the preseason and later released with a settlement.

Ferguson returned to the Colts, but was once again waived injury settlement a few weeks into the 2018 season. He later had a brief stint with the Texans before recently signing on to the Patriots’ practice squad.

In 2017, Ferguson appeared in 10 games for the Colts and rushed for five yards on one attempt and no touchdowns. He also had three receptions for 16 yards (5.3 YPC) to go along with 86 kickoff return yards.
