Patriots Restructure DE Rob Ninkovich’s Contract

According to ESPN’s Adam Caplan, the Patriots and DE Rob Ninkovich have agreed to a restructured contract on Wednesday.

Ninkovich, 31, signed a  four-year, $15.04 million contract that included a $5 million signing bonus with the Patriots before the start of the 2013 season.

He still had another two years remaining on the agreement, which includes base salaries of $2.1 million and $1.5 million for the 2015 and 2016 season.

In 2014, Ninkovich appeared in all 16 games and recorded 62 tackles, eight sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery for a touchdown and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the N0. 41 outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense out of 46 qualifying players.

We’ll have the contract details posted as the news is available.
