Patriots Roster Cuts Including DT Terrance Knighton

The New England Patriots have begun the process of trimming their roster down to 75 players. Here’s the full list of roster cuts up to this point:

Other roster moves include:

  • RB Dion Lewis and OT Sebastian Vollmer (reserve/PUP)

Knighton, 30, wound up signing a one-year, $2.05 million contract with the Patriots as an unrestricted free agent back in March. The contract includes another $2.5 million available through incentives.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Knighton will free up $1,768,750 in available cap space while creating $250,000 in dead money.

In 2015, Knighton appeared in 15 games for the Redskins and totaled 29 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 27 defensive tackle out of 70 qualifying players.
