Patriots Sign CB Ryan Lewis To Practice Squad

According to Mike Reiss of ESPN, the Patriots have signed CB Ryan Lewis to their practice squad on Wednesday.

The Patriots’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. OL James Ferentz (Exception)
  2. DL Geno Grissom (Exception)
  3. WR Cody Hollister
  4. DB David Jones
  5. DB Damarius Travis
  6. WR Demarcus Ayers
  7. DE Angelo Blackson (Exception)
  8. G Willie Beavers
  9. G Jomal Wiltz
  10. CB Ryan Lewis

Lewis, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Cardinals cut him loose coming out of the preseason and later signed him to their practice squad.

Unfortunately, the Cardinals released him from their practice squad on Tuesday.

During his college career at Pittsburgh, Lewis recorded 103 tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss, a sack, two interceptions and eight pass defenses over the course of 40 games.
