Patriots Sign DL Casey Walker, Place DT Sealver Siliga On Short-Term I.R.

The Patriots announced the signing of DL Casey Walker on Saturday. New England also placed DT Sealver Siliga on injured reserve with the designation to return to make room for Walker.

Walker, 24, signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma back in 2013. During his college career, Walker appeared in 33 games with 22 starts at Oklahoma and compiled 49 tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and two passes defensed.

He was kept on the Panthers’ practice squad for a portion of his rookie season.

Siliga, 24, sustained a foot injury during the first half of the Patriots game against the Raiders. He’ll be able to return in eight weeks, but he can practice with the team in six weeks.
