Patriots Sign Free Agent TE Kellen Winslow

Pro Football Talk reports that the deal is now official. The Patriots sign  free agent TE Kellen Winslow to a one-year deal.

James Walker of ESPN Boston reports that sources have informed him that the New England Patriots have agreed to terms with free agent TE Kellen Winslow.

Winslow, 29, was released by the Seahawks a few weeks ago, but the recent injury to Aaron Hernandez leaves them short on tight ends. It’s hard to say if Winslow will be able to be an effective player for the Patriots, as his overall ability seemed to be in decline during the last few years, but he’ll at least get a shot, assuming that he’s able to pass a physical.
